This is a complex, muscular wine, with good aging potential. The nose carries a whiff of animal (in a good way) and the black fruits are buoyed with generous acidity. Cellar Selection.

Deep red. A highly fragrant bouquet evokes fresh dark berries, rose oil and peppery spices, and a note of cola emerges with air. This opaque and very dark purple colored Pinot Noir from Oregon is very good. It opens with a mild blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, nicely balanced, juicy and comes alive. Its flavor profile is a very tasty blueberry and cherry blend with notes of nicely integrated minerality and light oak. I also detected a hint of clove towards the end. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are manageable, but stick around for quite some time for a Pinot. This wine is very tasty and will not last long. I would pair it with beef bourguignon. Very good+.

I found the nose of the Siduri to be deep and hedonistic, offering sweet cherry, cola, ink, cassis, kirsch and rose. It’s full bodied with smooth and plush tannin and bright acidity, everything appearing in good balance that I think will improve even more with time. Flavors are tarter than the nose, delivering cherry, cranberry, huckleberry, wet pavement, pastel florals and a small dose of wet soil. 91 pts, value B+.
Generous on the palate, this wine from the famous site is ripe with wild strawberry and pomegranate fruit and accented with the distinct spiciness of cardamom. It displays its youth through assertive tannins and oak-derived scents, layering the thick finish with cinnamon bark.

One of the highlights in this range, the 2015 Pinot Noir Bellflower Vineyard is rich, creamy and seductive, all of which give it considerable appeal. Dark cherry, plum, licorice and lavender notes are pushed to the foreground. Sumptuous and bold, the Bellflower has just enough aromatic nuance and texture to keep things in some sort of balance. The 2015 will appeal most to readers who enjoy dark, ample wines.

Coming from Clos Pepe, John Sebastiano, and Dierberg vineyards, the 2015 Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir is a great introduction to this stellar region. I was able to taste Adam Lee’s full-lineup for this report, including his Russian River Valley, Sonoma and Oregon releases. It’s a big lineup, but there’s some gorgeous Pinot Noirs here. I’ve listed the wines in the order tasted, starting with Oregon, followed by Sonoma, Russian River Valley, Santa Lucia Highlands and Sta. Rita Hills.
